Kevin Dunleavy Principal
Kevin brings more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience with an entrepreneurial zeal. In 1987 Kevin co-founded Try-Foods International, a highly respected retail promotion firm. There he played a leading role in the growth of the company into one of the largest retail marketing firms in the country. Over the years he led Try-Foods in creating new products, including digital, and into new market verticals. In 2004 he sold Try-Foods to Advantage Sales & Marketing (Integrated Marketing Services). In September he resigned the Integrated Marketing account to fully focus on SMP’s goal of being the retailer’s agency.
Super Marketing Promotions, Inc. (SMP) was launched in 2004, initially to develop and market a new wine marketing product he invented called the Virtual Wine Selector™. This deepened his understanding of new media and provided greater exposure to the entire supermarket from the perishable departments to center store. As a retail marketing consultant he helped create and launch the Produce For Kids program; which won him a Retail Marketing Excellence award from Produce Business Magazine. Over the years he’s consulted for many other companies in developing and selling in successful consumer marketing programs.
Kevin is recognized for his consumer marketing expertise and has spoken at many industry events including PBH, PMA, CPMA and the Southeast Produce Council (SPC). He has served the industry in a volunteer capacity, most recently as SPC director and marketing chair and Strong 4 Life chair. His understanding of the promotional needs of the retail, commodity board and CPG industry and his consumer marketing experience makes him uniquely suited to develop and implement custom retail consumer marketing programs.

Stacey has 20 years of food writing and editing experience (books, magazines, TV and more); which makes her feel mildly accomplished and slightly old. She worked with Kevin at Try-Foods where she started the content department. She digs, (and was surprised to learn that not everyone does), grocery shopping, all the choices!, and sitting in carline, free time!. As a wife and a mother, she understands the challenges first hand of getting everyone around the table for a healthy, home cooked meal. Her professional and personal experience helps SMP to deliver content that resonate with today’s shopper.
Rowena Dionisio-Connelly Creative
Rowena is a designer with a marketer’s mind. She has 10 years of design experience with a heavy concentration in food. Rowena started her career with Kevin at Try-Foods. Her design experience ranges from web to packaging to magazines. She is one of the main go-to designers As SMP’s creative director and lead designer, Rowena ensures that the creative is powerful and on point.
Chef Steve Petusevsky Writer, Recipe Developer, Natural Foods expert
Chef Steve is a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York (CIA 77’) where he was awarded a fellowship and served as Chef Instructor. He is the author of The Whole Foods Market Cookbook – a Guide to Natural Foods with 350 Recipes (Clarkson Potter, 2002). His new books, The Diabetes Vegetarian Cookbook and Sizzle and Smoke: The Ultimate Guide to Grilling for Diabetes, Prediabetes, and Heart Health were published by the American Diabetes Association in 2013 and early 2014. Chef Steve has worked with SMP for many years on the Healthy Living…naturally® magazine program.
Chef Mike Monahan Recipe Developer, Video Chef Personality, in-store Chef Demos
Chef Mike, has been a professional chef since 1994 and has always had a passion for cooking. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, his passion is teaching others the joy of preparing delicious meals, in a simple, easy-to-understand manner. He is the face behind Chef411™, SMP’s custom video program. Chef Mike has worked with SMP on the production of many custom cooking videos for retailers and brands.
Deb Lehman Retail Co-Marketing Guru
Deb has had a tremendously successful career at one of the leading retailers in the country, Meijer. She spent the last 20 years in co-marketing where she consistently exceeded revenue projections in excess of $50 million per year. She did this while also building strong relationships with Meijer’s CPG partners. Deb gives SMP unique retailer insight that lets SMP develop true super marketing solutions.
Ryan McCluskey Digital Design Specialist
Ryan has over 15 years experience in advertising and marketing design working in industries ranging from news media to resort marketing. He’s designed websites and print material for clients across a wide spectrum – from restaurants to retail – so whether it’s online or in print Ryan is always up for a creative challenge.
