Kevin brings more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience with an entrepreneurial zeal. In 1987 Kevin co-founded Try-Foods International, a highly respected retail promotion firm. There he played a leading role in the growth of the company into one of the largest retail marketing firms in the country. Over the years he led Try-Foods in creating new products, including digital, and into new market verticals. In 2004 he sold Try-Foods to Advantage Sales & Marketing (Integrated Marketing Services). In September he resigned the Integrated Marketing account to fully focus on SMP’s goal of being the retailer’s agency.
Super Marketing Promotions, Inc. (SMP) was launched in 2004, initially to develop and market a new wine marketing product he invented called the Virtual Wine Selector™. This deepened his understanding of new media and provided greater exposure to the entire supermarket from the perishable departments to center store. As a retail marketing consultant he helped create and launch the Produce For Kids program; which won him a Retail Marketing Excellence award from Produce Business Magazine. Over the years he’s consulted for many other companies in developing and selling in successful consumer marketing programs.
Kevin is recognized for his consumer marketing expertise and has spoken at many industry events including PBH, PMA, CPMA and the Southeast Produce Council (SPC). He has served the industry in a volunteer capacity, most recently as SPC director and marketing chair and Strong 4 Life chair. His understanding of the promotional needs of the retail, commodity board and CPG industry and his consumer marketing experience makes him uniquely suited to develop and implement custom retail consumer marketing programs.
